Hi I just got my camera modified by astrononmiser and haven’t had any problems I recommend them however I just have a question if I can use automatic sensor cleaner I’ve had it on wen the camera comes on and goes of and had no problems but am I doing damage I’m guessing not as the camera was sent back to me with it on and another question about can I use the stronger in camera cleaner wen the mirror flips up 3 time and it shakes the dust of like it does wen I turn it off and on thank you

I wouldn't leave the sensor cleaner on Auto, because your Flats will be wrong if you accidently switch off before taking them !

You can still use the "Clean Now" option at the right time.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "stronger" cleaner.

The third mode "Clean Manually" doesn't do any shaking.

It lifts the mirror and opens the shutter, so that you can clean the "sensor" with approved cleaning tools inserted into the camera.

Have a read of the Instruction Manual.

There is a piezoelectric vibrating element attached to LP1 so it depends on if they removed both filters of just LP2 during the upgrade.

It’s a hamod not full spectrum so they removed lp2

I tend to remove LP1 in any case as its also the anti-aliasing filter and thats no good for astronomy.

So dont assume that they did not remove it just because its a hamod.

I believe he didn’t remove lp1 before I sent my camera to Andy at astrononmiser I asked him about the badder mod for the canon 6d he told me that he stoped doing that mod due to internal reflections causing red halo’s around stars he talked about since the advent of the canon 500d and there sensors are mounted by floating them on springs meaning there is a small amount of adjustment built into the design which is generally sufficient to adjust for the loss of filter glass meaning that the auto focus is sharp he also said that the badder filter blocks uv/ir light however the the front filter which remains in the camera already does this blocking 97 percent of uv and ir light so the extra layer of filtering isn’t required so it seems that he didn’t remove lp1
