M51 in the moonlight!!!

Hello,

Challenging conditions but it was clear so it had to be done. I knew it wasn`t going to be easy with the moon and a lack of Ha objects so i plumped for a bright galaxy.

12x10 mins with Borg 77ed and ART285. Guided via Guidemaster with 66sd and QHY5. Captured using maxim with dark, flat subtracted. Post processing with PS.

You've got a very nice image here Alan

Very neat and well framed. Lots of details in the Whirlpool.

I agree about negatives too, they tend to be more revealing of the fainter stuff.

Thanks guys. Arran i did use a CLS filter whether it made any diiference i don`t know but it was a lovely night and it would have been a shame not to try at least.....
