I wasn't happy with the processing of this so here's a new version that I think is a better use of the data.  Much happier with the result.

Second version added using pixel math equation from 'The Coldest Nights' website.

I've not seen too many images of this on here so thought I'd add one.  Captured before Xmas, processed since as I'm confined to quarters due to the virus!

3.5hrs Ha, 3.5hrs O3 and 2hrs S2 all 300s exposures.  ASI1600GT, reduced HD8 on the EQ6.  Processed in Siril, GIMP, TopazAI and StarnetV2, binned X2 and then upscaled.  If the weather were better I'd like to capture more data on this.  C & C welcome.

That's nice Jody, good depth viewing at full size looking into the central area. Was that depth/structure easy to bring out?

I remember shooting some Ha frames of this area a while back and thinking I wasn't getting much in return - I should have persevered.

Thanks Lee.  The core seems to be quite strong in O3 and S2 which is where the details came from.  Had to control the highlights a lot in that region as it's very bright and blew out easily.

This is the S2 in the core:

And here's the O3:

Thanks for posting those Jody - always interesting seeing the individual channels.  👍

Nice result.  I am planning this target next so good to see.

Thanks all.  Certainly recommend more time spent on each of the channels. Lots more detail available given clear skies. Certainly one I will come back to.

With all the Russ Croman tools I think I'm going to have to relent and get Pixinsight.  Probably get much better result with these tools.
