Clear sky all day and then it clouded over last night! One fleeting capture through thin cloud. Rushed focus. Seeing looked decent but this looks pretty soft.

That's lovely Suart. I got out again last night too - another fight with the clouds, but the seeing was quite good. About to post what I got.

Thanks Kostas & Geof.  If I'd spent £2 on new laser collimator batteries I might have got a better image (don't ask) given myself a dressing down.

Cheers Simon! Cold, tired and frustrated last night.....just like the good old days 😉

Using batteries 5 years past their use by date is not recommended for collimating a newt! Especially when you've only got one left and the laser needs 3! 

Having said that I might be able to salvage something better out of this solo capture.....

Nice!... I've been out these last few nights. Its been so cold with air frost also.. that can soften it. Been -6 by night down here.

Best image I ever got was on Jupiter Dec 2010 at minus 15 Celsius so that's the only aspect I'm not blaming 😉
