More food, more spiders?

It's an unwelcome thought. I cannot imagine being comfortable imaging in an aus garden at night (or any hot region), even with the allure of the southern targets.

Out of curiosity, is there a danger of disease from the little buggers?

The main problem seems to be with livestock on farms losing lots of blood and getting weak and lethargic.

That video is in NSW, down here in Melbourne I was out last night observing Jupiter and the GRS and only had a few bother me, no worse than usual for here.

It has been ridiculously wet even down here, we had 512mm of rain in Oct-Nov and 1115mm from June-November.

Yikes! That would be catastrophic, here. 15-inches is normal for an entire year around these parts, with more than 90% falling from November through April.

That video gives me the heebee-jeebees.

Thankfully I have the blood type that mossies hate. They can smell it a mile away (not really a mile), and they avoid me.

I suppose I'm not immune from swallowing them though.

*EDIT*

I'm O negative and apparently mossie prefer O blood.

Never trust a phlebotomist, they lie.

Watch out for those pesky DropBears.

Same as me Paul, O- negative. Maybe that's why they don't bother me too much.

Though I don't think  I'd stand much chance in that video!

That's truly scary Geoff!😱

My wife and I are thinking seriously about a holiday to Oz/NZ next year, probably October or November, and the Oz leg would likely take in all, or some of Uluru, Alice Springs, Melbourne, Sydney..which month weather wise would you recommend?

Cheers,

Dave

If you get to New South Wales, Dave, this is your kind of place:
