Skywatcher pillar mount - where do you attach stuff?

I'm considering buying a pillar mount so that I've got a semi permanent setup. Just wondering how people attach things like the motor control box, handset, asiair or the thousand and one other things people like to hang off the tripod.

For me it’s sticky backed Velcro. Decent 3M stuff as the cheaper stuff never sticks for long.

The sticky backed magnetic stuff could be a goer too as the pillar is steel.

I have one of the Skywatcher tri-piers.  The previous owner had Araldited a hook to it, which gave me an anchor to hold up a belt that strapped the GoTo box in place.  I had a handset holder lying around, and used a bit of string to hang it from a screw projecting from the mount. 

One could, I suppose, drill and tap holes to attach brackets.
