I think all white refractors look just plain and ordinary (and I’ve got three of them).  If I wanted a scope for the visual wow factor it would be one of these:

That looks like something found under the bonnet of an HGV Truck!😋😂

Exactly, it’s a celebration of complex engineering.

I’m sorry but when I see a white refractor it always reminds of these:😊

Exactly, it's a celebration of simple Galileo type optics..where our great hobby first started..

I’m sorry but when I see a big reflector it always reminds of one of these..😊

they even put a ladder up the side on that one so you could reach the eyepiece 😉

Nice, and it comes already flocked.😉

I’m primarily an imager, but I do have a 16” SW flextube Dobsonian for the rare occasions when the imaging kit looks after itself, and yes, the views from under a dark sky are worth the hassle of setting it up.

But a truss tube Dob wouldn’t make much of a ship’s funnel.

I’ve got one of those Dave!
Banana is a much underrated colour for telescopes in my opinion.

Now, if they did it in pink or purple, I could definitely go for one, purely on the aesthetics. It really looks the business: Would you mind telling us all a bit more about it, make, model, etc? Please.

Well I fitted a purple Moonlite focuser to mine 😉

It’s a Takahashi Epsilon 130d, a very fast (F/3.3) Newtonian with an added corrector to tighten up stars. What inspired Takahashi to colour it yellow in the first place I’m not sure. Maybe imagers have more flamboyant tastes than observers, who seem happy with black and white?

I like the epsilon colour scheme.  Love the purple focuser. Would go well with an Altair Hypercam

Yeah, engineers assign those jobs to technicians! ;)

It could also confuse insects.

Fun! But why did you put in a fly instead of a bee?

Says confused entomologist😉
