I must admit I've got a soft spot for William Optics scopes, well made and great to look at. 1539347089206_screenshot2018-10-12at13_24_21.png.93966563e414f778f10059b3f18d3998.png

I couldn't agree more. They're great looking scopes, especially when matched up with their own guidescopes. very pretty...

I was hoping that was a dial guage on the focusser, but it looks like it might a thermometer.

I wish my Z61 was all gold or even a blue one, they'd look almost too good to use. Think they've caught on with the thought with the Redcat and Spacecat all painted livery.

Having looked through this thread I see plenty of elegant or beautifully engineered telelscopes (The Great Weatherall being the best), but no telescope that I would call "pretty", apart, possibly, from the Porter Garden telescope.

And a lot of posts showing off all the telescopes people own, which isn't the point.

Each to their own. I’ve seen plenty of good looking scopes on the thread, and whilst some (including me) have posted up a number of different ones, it hasn’t been showing off or all that have been owned, just sharing and joining in the thread. Sorry you feel that way.

Of course it's each to their own, and there's no denying some of these are well put together, but for me white is the best colour for astronomical scopes whatever the type, and anything else (with the possible exception of black) is just "bling"🤦🥴..

Well I wouldn't say anyone is showing off their scopes, this entire forum is a place where we all post pictures of our scopes to begin with.

Though I do not own either, it has got to be the Questar 3.5 or the original LOMO Astelle 60 'Mini-Mak'.

As a compromise I have my 're-modded' Meade ETX105...

This is my prettiest scope, almost sexy, when it first arrived and waiting to get into the obsy, and when it finally took its place there, weighing in at around 35 kg with the Homeyer scope cradle and extra Losmandy bar.

Cheers, Göran

Thank goodness I am not alone in that thought, always thought it was just one of my random thoughts….
clearly not 😀

Have to put my hand up to not personally enjoying the questar design so much, but can totally understand why I'm in the minority here! Slightly off topic but I'm also not really a fan of Berlebach (aesthetically). May my head be struck from my shoulders for such treachery! 😱😅

As mentioned above though beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder, and I'm not sure if it matters whether we describe things as pretty, well-designed or elegant - reading between the lines, aesthetics is the topic here.

I for one am thoroughly enjoying all the various shapes, sizes and designs of scopes people are posting, whether they confirm to my ideas of beauty or not, or whether posts contain multiple telescopes.

The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned!

Does this count as a telescope? The Dragonfly Telephoto Array:

Amazing, I’m puzzled by how they managed to keep such a large cluster of lenses steady and aligned together when anchored at just one point being the mount head, looks so cool!
