Wide Field of IC1396

The field of view of this image is nearly 10 degrees, taken with the 200mm Askar Lens and ASI6200. I like to see the tendrils fade into the distance beyond the main nebula

Total exposure time thru SHO filters was 3.75 hrs, the most I could capture at the time, maybe I could collect more photons in the future to bring out the surrounding nebulosity more, but I do like it as it is.

Beautiful shot, it's unusual to such a wide field image of the Elephant Trunk.

Thanks Gary, thats the main reason I bought the 200mm lens, to couple to a full frame camera for those very wide shots that arent so common, you can almost image whole constellations!

Nice image Adrian. I agree with Gary, I don't think I've seen a wide field shot of this target before. Looks great!
