NEW MET OFFICE CLOUD MAPS FOR ANDROID (AND IPHONE?)

I just Googled  'UK cloud maps'  as I was unhappy with the resources I already used.  It looks like the Met have upgraded their maps, or I just hadn't seen them before!  Either way, here they are anyway.

The first two maps are for my location for the solar eclipse tomorrow, and the second two are for the Jupiter phenomena on Wednesday evening.  My location is roughly half way along a straight line drawn between Skipton and Bradford.

The fifth shows the tab with alternatives to having the cloud cover.

For the cloud cover, the maps appear better than what I have been using.  Though only time will tell how accurate they are 😊.

I looked at the maps of cloud too today, and reckon it is quite useful for a local and regional overview. Usual caveat about timing applies. I use android app.

May be less happy about rain radar as that has been my golf risk assesor!
