This season's M31, with added NB data

I have now added 3 hrs of NB data captured with the RASA8/IMX571OSC/NBZ filter, so around 14 hrs total integration.

The idea was to make the Ha regions 'pop' but of course the NBZ/OSC combination does not collect just Ha emissions, so adding this in has altered the colour balance somewhat. However, it has made the Ha regions a bit more distinct if you zoom in.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice and deep, and subtle as Elp says. Stars shapes are well under control now. If you want the Ha to carry more punch, you can isolate the red channel from the NBZ data and stretch it so the highlights becomes stronger than the red channel in the RGB data. Then add it to the red channel in the RGB data using blend mode Lighten (all in PS of course).

Thanks for the feedback. I don’t use PS but I do have Affinity Photo which I’m sure could do the same thing. I had a go at splitting the NBZ Channels in PI, which was straightforward but I then attempted to combine this channel with the red channel from the RGB image using Pixelmath ((0.65 x RGBred)+(0.35 x NBZred))  but the result was not what I was expected, one component was completely blown out. As with my usual approach to this, I’ll have another go and hopefully post an improved result.

Is 3 hrs of NBZ against 11 hrs of RGB enough?

I used PS layers to add the Ha to red so cant help you, and I havent worked out PI yet :D

I'd say for an Ha enhancement 3 hours is plenty TBH.
