Zeiss Conquest 8x32's

There's a detailed review here

The author, Roger Vine is very experienced with binocuIars, as you can see from the rest of his website.

I have had the 10x42 Conquest for about 10 years, and have been very pleased with them.  I found them really bright, so much so that I  was quite disappointed with the perormance of several 50mm finders that I tried in an attempt to find faint stuff from city skies.

I have the Zeiss Conquest HD 10x32 and the 15x56. They are (both) very good, optically extremely pleasing as you’d expect, but the focus mechanism in particular is superb: much better than the Leicas or Nikons I have at a similar price point. The only criticism I’d have is that the soft-rubber closely-contoured eyecups are so closely shaped, they are often difficult to pull away in a hurry, leading to missing the bird. I plan to replace those of my 10x32s with some harder rubber generics.

But I love them nonetheless, and have no trouble using the 10x32s one-handed.

No doubt they have an exceptional optical pedigree, but i'd also consider saving some money and looking

at the Canon is 10x30.  When you hit the image stabiliser button 'all will become clear'

I wondered what those sci-fi looking models were during my bino store browsing. Now I know they are Image Stabilising and not to be ignored. Thanks.

10 years? So, they haven't been updated lately. I suppose if they don't need to be then what would it matter.

Interesting. I think the new Viking flagship model (8x42 Osprey ED's) look very stylish and at £500 might be better as a first pair of all rounders.
