Milky way, M31, Double Cluster

Taken for fun really just to see what it can do. Phone is an A52S, 10s exposure under Bortle 5 skies with a little tweaking on phone editor. I feel like M33 is in there too. 3 galaxies and two clusters from a 10 second exposure with a phone. Still blows me away 😂

I've been in the garden for an hour or, and had a go with my pixel 4a. I got similar shots to yours, I think it's about bortle 5+ here in town. I'd like to try this from a bortle 1 location! 

I was also keeping an eye on Aurora strength, no luck but tomorrow is cloudy, so I bet it arrives then 🤬

I am just wondering, how is the 7 Pro going to preform... My S20FE need to be changed in the close future...

The problem i have with the phone is when held up to the EP i get a purple glare and unable to take any images

I believe this is down to the laser autofocus, didn't used to have the problem with my Pixel 3a, but since I upgraded to the 6 have had exactly the same purple problem. Been tempted to put some black tape over it but so far haven't given it a go.

Based on what I've seen, the Saumsung S22 ultra might be a better astro phone than the pixel6!

My own experience with my P6 shows internal reflections in the lenses, making flat calibration impossible and it is limited to 17 second exposures vs the S22U's 30
This is the rejection map from a stack I did of raw Pixel 6 17s shots recently, unstretched!

The 6 pro takes a 4 minute photo and stack's it for you in AP mode

This is true, and while it produces OK results by itself, you could in theory go deeper with DeepSkyCamera on the S22 Ultra

When using the inbuilt 4 minute stacked shots on my Pixel, I notice a fair few artifacts around stars. It's there in RAW mode too so presumably it's a fault of the stacking process.

I don't know about the S22U, but the Pixel6 also can't edit its own RAW files, yet the JPEGs it makes are AI enhanced and that produces some odd artifacts...
