Polar scope alignment impossible?

Recommended Posts

Since I couldn't find anything on the internet about the problem i have calibrating my polar scope,  I hope that maybe here someone can help me.

It seems like it's impossible for me to align the polar scope on my ioptron Smart EQ Pro+ mount.

I don't think I've done anything wrong,  I centered the reticle on a distant object,  rotated the mount 180° and started adjusting the 3 screws to bring it halfway towards the object.  I repeated that a couple times until i realised that I've run out of room for my reticle to move... I couldn't adjust the screws anymore. After unscrewing the eyepiece I've seen that the reticle can't move further down.

The problem here is that the polar scope isn't properly aligned yet, I need to bring it further down but it's just not possible for me to do so.

How can that be and is there a fix for it?

(also sorry for any mistakes,  english isn't my first language)

Before you started, were the three screws set to equal length? If the reticle was already adjusted close to the limits then you might not have enough adjustment remaining

The other possibility is that the polar scope is too far off axis in the housing. Is it possible to adjust this separately?

One other thing.. after adjustment half way, do you rotate back to 0 degrees and recenter using the mount adjustment screws?
