...a.k.a. Big Dipper glows through clouds above Old Gang Smelt Mill. 

Last Friday.  Single sky image.  ~6 light painted foreground.  Canon 6D MKII, Sigma 24mm.  Photoshop layers, layer masks and lighten blend mode to combine images.  

The clouds really make the asterism stand out.   Cheers, Paul.

Don't think so.

A quick look in Google Earth suggests it's the crest of the ridge on the north side of the dale.  Seen on the upper left here:

Yep!  @maw lod qan also usefully hides light pollution.   Cheers, Paul.
