to go with my new “grab ‘n go” kit

I can fit my whole kit on it and drag it to club meets and dark sites though i may need to get bigger wheels for it.

Not really the normal concept of grab and go- the lot weighs about 30kg! But I like the scope on this mount and will use it a lot :) It does fit in the boot of the little city car with the back seats down.

Probably a 200p dob would have done too… 🤔🤣

Nice. Those Ikea trolleys are surprisingly robust, although the wheels do leave something to be desired as you mentioned.

In Berlin there is a lot of second hand/given away trade in furniture so it's quite normal to see people on the U-Bahn carrying an entire sideboard or giant shelving units, and we were no exception. We bought an Ikea trolley seven years ago when we moved here and it's still going strong; we have had all manner of ridiculous stuff on the back of it including the kitchen sink!

Tell me more about that sexy looking vintage tripod. And that stool- nice setup!

Mark

Its marked as a " Tiltall #4602 Professional Tripod ", and originally manufactured by C. M. Marchioni in Rutherford, New Jersey  USA

The one I have has been in my family for over fifty years. The build quality on every part is superb, and I'm confident it will give a lifetime of good service without issues. I understand they are now manufactured by Leitz, but have not seen one.  A few years ago these tripods were under the radar and could be had quite cheaply, however now they seem to be quite sought after. I still see original ones come up occasionally on ebay, and they are well worth looking out for in my opinion.

The stool is a light weight Drummers model from an entry level drum kit. I picked it up for a couple of (£) Pounds at a charity shop. Here are some other photos of the tripod.

That last photo ... Intes M603? I have one which I restored. Lovely scope.

Magnus

Its an Intes-Micro Alter M500 model (127mm) which I purchased from the Widescreen Centre, to have a scope during the long wait for the Questar to be built. I should put it up for sale as it is redundant now.
