Never forgets - IC1396 - Elephant's Trunk Nebula widefield SHO

So, having started one project last year which is yet to be completed I decided to start a new one, and what better target than IC1396 the Elephant's Trunk Nebula, but in widefield so can capture the whole thing. Utilising the excellent Samyang 135mm paired with Baader F2 filters I think this has turned out quite well, a little muted but it's my first attempt at manually processing the colours of SHO and taming the greens down to get the yellow/orange/cyan colour. Another plus I got to see some of the Perseid's at the same time.

Really beautiful, these Widefield images with the az gti really are inspirational, maybe another setup to add to my wish list.

Thanks. The Samyang 135mm is one of the best things I've used, definitely worth getting one for widefield. It's speed is also something to behold.

For reference this is the HA data, I literally sat looking at this for ten minutes when I'd pre processed in it Siril. S2 and O3 were not as impressive as usual, but HA I'd be happy imaging in mono if I only had one option.

I agree re:mono, I have 5 or 6 desktop wallpapers I've shot in widefield Ha with the 135mm - look the biz.

Revisited this one after doing my M16 Eagle Nebula, removed the green as it was subduing it somewhat and believe this one v2 now looks even better:
