First photo of the second upload will be the observation spot.

Then the barn to house the scopes fully assembled , just wheel out check collimation and off you go 👍

Barn when finished will be fully insulated with foil foam board stuff.

All the floor is done on the underside.

The rest will be finished tomorrow I hope.

It's took since Wednesday to construct the astronomy lounge

Hi folks.

Just moved to my new house in midwales.

Outside now with the Mrs having a brew.

Can't believe how bright the milk way is. Even with lights on its blazing away .

Made up.

Thanks

It's where I want to retire to (roundabout now) but can't persuade

the wife to move so far away 😞 .

So Jealous

Do it Steve. That's why I moved here. Big mortgage,  but no more carting my scope around, just wheel it out and observe.

Seriously so so happy here.

It's darker than pencelli,  which is ace for your garden 👍

Mike is that all insulated and gap proofed I am thinking of getting a 10" dob and getting a small shed to put it in so I can just wheel it out.  I was just thinking about moisture getting in.

You can see some of the insulation here paul.

Also mirrored the windows so heat doesn't come in

Brilliant obviously I dont need a shed that big, but seeing your build puts my mind at rest when I do get a dob I have no worries over moisture getting to it. Thanks Mike really appreciate it.

Diolch yn fawr!
But, (dare I say it!) it looks a bit cloudy! :D

Spent the last few days in west Wales.

The first night was crystal clear.

Incredible Milky Way (and M31). :)

Where in west Wales?

Haverfordwest here, Milky Way always visible through the summer 😊

Haverfordwest?! That's nearly in England, isn't it, not West Wales?! :D

This was a little campsite just outside St. David's. ;)

Not my usual abode, that's much further east, but still with M31 a naked eye fuzz on a clear night. :)

On topic! The star barn puts my shed to shame. A recent trip to the tip means that at least I can now get in it!

It’s near St David’s 😆
