CKP
Hi all, I'm pretty much new to astronomy. I have my phases where I feel dedicated and read up on everything I can, only then to forget everything i've read shortly after. I have a beginners telescope (Skywatcher Heritage 130P) and a pair of binoculars (Helios Naturesport 10x50), between the two i've seen some of the beginners objects. I want to restart this hobby and relearn the things i've forgot, to also progress further than before and enjoy the night sky as I once did! Thanks.

badhex
Welcome back! Sometimes it's easy to feel down about learning and forgetting stuff, or not feeling up to going out to observe, but don't worry about it - I started with this hobby over ten years ago and got to the point of grinding my own mirror for a dob, until I moved countries and ended up doing not doing any astronomy for nearly 5 years and forgetting most of the night sky, until got the bug again and have been back with a vengeance ever since. Just enjoy the hobby and do what you can!

I am in the process of final figuring the 2 mirrors for a 200mm Newt/Cass that I began sometime during the 90's!!! Great to see another that has been through the ordeals of mirror grinding 🙂

Sunshine
Welcome to SGL! I’ve been observing over twenty years and still aimlessly point my telescope around like every time is the first 😂 Edited July 21, 2022 by Sunshine 1
