Scores in DSS

For a set of subs I have a range of DSS scores from 6000 to 11000.

Are the lower scored subs really half as good as the top ones?

If so, what would be the cut off score of subs worth using?

My eye has a hard time differentiating the difference, so any advice would be appreciated.

Was searching the DSS yahoo group, and found a rule of thumb, that says to only use scores that are over half as good as your best frame.

So I guess mine are all OK to use
