The Large (top) & Small Magellanics from my recent trip to New Zealand. the bright star under the SMC is actually the glob 47 Tucanae!

400D single frame 120sec iso 1600 Sigma 18-125 zoom @f4 & 26mm.

Sorry about the steaky stars...

Hi Mark, welcome home, and trust you are over the 'jet lag' :)

The Magellenic Clouds are just as I remember them from my Aussie Bush star camp last October. :)

Its quite a moment, when you see them for the first time, as you don't really know what to expect, or at least I didn't expect them to be quite so 'naked eye'.

I sure that you had a memorable trip, and we are certainly looking forward to going back 'down-under' again, later this year.
