JUNE 17TH - WL - DID YOU SPOT THE NINE ARs TODAY?

Well, if you haven't already, you're too late, AR3036  has now rotated out of view 😁.  According to spaceweather.com, "its the first time for years" there have been nine ARs visible at the same time.  (they didn't say how many years, does anyone know?)

I was observing from 9.59 to 10.49am and AR3036 was still visible at that time - all be it a difficult spot in the 102ED with turbulence on the W limb.

The single frame below shows all nine and on the second crop AR3036 is just visible as a small 'sliver' - not far from the top of the limb.

Frame taken at 10.29am, Tecnosky 102ED F7, Olympus E-M5 Mk11, 1/320 at 200asa.

Did you see the strange bright thing on the limb, it looked like a spot but it was bright rather than dark and raised above the edge, but showed no real prominences.odd !

I wasn't observing in HA only WL, so sorry, can't help.

Good old Sol, just keeps giving, makes looking so enjoyable.

Thanks for the share of th eimage Paul, sadly no Solar images from me yet until the roof is finished, 
too much dust about from the roofers.

I had a good solar session around mid day today.  AR3031 was certainly very active and flaring continually, rivers of "molten gold" flowing around like an aerial view of a volcanic eruption.     🙂

Thanks Alan. I'll look forward to seeing your imagers when the roof is finished.  We've just had the house pebble-dashed, so I understand your dust problem, the scaffolding only came down yesterday.  I'm just relieved it's finished.

It was quite a sight to see so many AR's after a several years of almost nothing recently.
