My smallest ever target

Hi all,

This was more or less directly overhead around midnight last night and I took a few snaps on the off-chance. I never realised it was so bright, hopeless blooms initially so I dropped the exposure to 200s in R and G and 300s in B for a total of 94m. I might well try this one without the reducer for a 25% boost in size.

good guess Tony, it is indeed the Cat's Eye, NGC 6543. Don't quite know why I omitted to mention that!!

Very nice Dennis. I've always been put off by the size, however that image is certainly worth it.

Well, you are right about the brightness! I'm just running a little sequence on this now for the first time, and during a 1 sec frame and focus run, only the nebula was showing on screen, not even a star!
