New ep case

Hi all.

I need a new ep case, my current collection of ep's have out grown the case I have.

The one's I've been looking at on amazon are out of stock , it has to be cheap I have 100 euros to spend must include delivery to Ireland. 

The dimensions I would like are or something similar are.

Long  400mm

Width 300mm

Depth 100mm

Found this one , a bit bigger then what I needed lots of room for more ep's

I store all of my kit in Max Cases from The Case Shop. They are good quality cases, the service is good, and the website lets you search for cases by internal size.

Using your preferred size, the best option seems to be this one: Max Case MAX465H125 | The Case Shop.

I would get a deep case and store your eyepieces and Barlows vertically.  I've been doing this for over 20 years in an XL Doskocil case to good effect.  The closest equivalent at The Case Shop is the MAX CASE MAX505.  You'll have plenty of space for future expansion as well.  It would be just over 100 Euros with foam.

On this side of the pond I hit up Harbor Freight.  These are Apache 4800s.  These are very solid and hold my eyepieces quite well.

Somebody suggested using an artist's brush (?) case.  But since they're wood, they're not waterproof and you'd need to add your own foam.  The pluck foam in all my plastic cases has eventually come apart, so using your own might not be a bad thing.  Just another option.

Try and locate high density P&P foam.  My Doskocil case came with it 20+ years ago, and it's still in great shape.  The rest of my cheaper cases came with the standard lower density P&P foam, and it is indeed tearing apart more easily despite being much younger.

I don't know how to distinguish it when ordering online other than mine is a lighter gray than the lower density foam with a much finer hole size.  You might need to talk to a foam distributor specialist to make it clear what you want.

I took a closeup picture of my darker low density foam left and above my lighter high density foam in the lower right to try and show the difference:

I use flight cases for storage of all my gear but in use I only need 3 or 4 eyepieces so take them out in one of these.

Floor mats for kids (those in puzzle shape) are also good and can be easily cut in desired shape. Also not rubbed.

Inspired by this thread I just picked up a slightly smaller case to hold my binoviewers with eyepiece pair, 1.25 diagonal, Barlows etc. There's room left at the moment to add a 3x focal extender if I can ever find one or possibly a pair of ~12mm eyepieces otherwise...

That would drive me crazy not having them in order🤣
