NexImage-AMCap Beginners mistake

Wasted 2 hours of imaging data last night by not realising that AMCap (video capture software supplied with the NexImage camera) did not store new files sequentially (like a camera). Each new capture overwrites the defined image file. So you have to rename and store each file after you have captured it. I'd previously been using k3ccdtools which does store files sequentially without having to manually save after each capture.

My fault really for not checking. Just thought I'd warn any other new users of NexImage.

Yes, I made that mistake sometime ago. Once done, never forgotten. I tend to use K3CCD Tools or wxAstrocapture for that reason!

I spent very little time with AMCap (I think only one or two sessions!) before switching to wxAstroCapture with my NexImage. I find it much more flexible and friendly. As Brinders has posted, they get over the possibility of overwriting sequences (K3CCD uses sequential numbers, wx adds a precise time-stamp to each filename).
