If You Could Borrow JWST

Recommended Posts

if you could borrow JWST for a day and study/image one object, what would you choose and why? I would point it in all directions randomly as I do my telescope and within minutes the clouds would surely roll in, somehow.

I'm sure this will be on the list at some point but do a JWST 'Deep Field' just like  the HST.

This would be on the top of my wish list as well. Would be interesting to shoot the same patch of the sky as hubble did to do a direct comparison. Some of the hubble deep field objects are redshifted to outside what hubble was meant to image and i think JWST would be right at home for those faint fuzzies.

I would point it at Betelgeuse or maybe Mercury as the planet that seems to be left out when we are exploring.

Alan

No way would you be allowed to point it anywhere near any of the inner planets. Got to keep that sunshield aligned!

And we have ESA/JAXA's BepiColombo on its way
