An attempt at the Antennae Galaxies

Difficult object NGC 4038/4039 they are found in Corvus, especially low in the North Of England.Being so close to the horizon,a lot of subs were rejected  due to one thing or another.

I just wanted to see if i could image the two arks that swirl away form the Galaxies. These were caused by the two Galaxies colliding, and stripping Stars and Gas out,to form the so called Antennae.

Taken with my 102 refractor and an Atik 460 ccd.Its an RGB image only, and in the end i had about 2.5hrs of usable data. The Arcs are faintly visible,so was a bit chuffed.

Anyway.

Mick.
