Tair 300 f4.5

I recently acquired a Tair 300 f4.5 in an eBay auction. Although quite a few imagers have used them, I’ve not read anything definitive on the following two points. Firstly, I’m assuming that the back focus is too short for anything except a DSLR with a M42 adapter. Secondly, I’m unclear how best to mount the lens. Tube rings seem to be the main option but it’s hard to tell what dimensions work best as Tair users tend to post images taken with the lens but not images of the setup. If anyone on the forum has a Tair 300 f4.5 and can reply with suggestions, that would be great!
