Hello

 

last night I was setting up my scope and when it came to the guidescope it just would not calibrate. I got as high as “west step 50”before I stopped and gave up. 
 

What should the settings be ?

Hiya. Looks like to me your calibration step is way too much. Reduce to maybe 1500. Ra and dec should be set the same 1500ms as the max you have set is too short for the calibration step.  That's the way I see it. Hope it helps. Also make sure you have the focal lenght for the guide camera set accurately.

If I reduce the calibration step, it doesn’t notice any movement and as such will do about 50 steps in each direction. 
 

ive been told it should be done in around 5 steps?
