A spider and a fly

IC417 and ngc 1931 in Auriga. Imaged under a near full moon. 2 hours of Ha and some 3.5 hours of RGB. The target sets early behind my house, so only a very limited amount of data. I think I must revisit this duo earlier next season.

As always, captured with my 190MN and ASI294MM camera. Processed in PixInsight.

Nice Wim! I like these two and you are brave to take them on during a full moon. Nice details in the fly and more data will reveal the spiders legs. You have some coma issues on the right side - collimation or sagging focuser perhaps?

Thanks, Göran. Collimation was near perfect. I did a star test to check it. Most likely sagging in the focuser extension tube.

The nice round stars In you last post of NGC5466 suggest that you fixed the sagging👍

Almost, I think. With some finger force, I could tighten the thumbscrew that locks the extension tube a bit more. There was a very tiny amount of play there before. But it's not 100% solved. I saw a hint of it in a recent capture. The good thing is that both MoonLite and Starlight Instruments (Feather Touch) have focusers that can replace the stock focuser on the 190MN, if it comes to that.
