HUGE EXPLOSION ON THE FARSIDE OF THE SUN - HUGE SUNSPOT ON ITS WAY ROUND?

Just had this notification from spaceweather.com   Looking at the size of the explosion, that could be quite some sunspot. 😊.

Fingers crossed that it is!

Wow - thanks for posting Paul. I hadn’t checked any of the solar sites today. Looks like whatever produced this colossal outburst is about five days away from becoming visible.

It could do Paz, it depends on how active it still is.  I'll certainly be looking out on the limb before it rotates into view.

Took a quick look yesterday around 3pm EST and could only find one small spot though SOHO showed 5 or 6.

I'm still waiting for this one to come around.

Thanks Paul for the heads up. I did have a session today with the PST + DS and there was a bit of activity. We might have a few clear days next week so fingers crossed.

Today's  update from spaceweather.com.  It's still looking good 🙂.

I keep checking for it to appear.

Today at 2:30pm EST I could still see 2948 but none of the other named AR's.

There is a spot appearing on the lower left hand side in my view through the scope that shows on SOHO but isn't numbered.

Could this be it finally showing?
