Meade Coranado solarmax iii 70mm

Has this scope been discontinued as I cannot find it anywhere in the UK. Says awaiting stock on Meade UK.

Meade was bought by Orion last year following a protracted legal dispute. Ever since Coronado products have been difficult to source in Europe. Not even sure whether they are still distributed in the U.K. by Opticstar or not. I’d stay well clear of Coronado until the company gives some clarity on the future. It will be difficult to get support if a problem arises - and problems do arise with Coronado solar scopes. If you can afford it, Lunt LS60 or LS80 is a much better option in my view.  The Solarmax III “70mm” is only a 60mm filter anyway.

Yes I had the LS 60. Was a fine scope. Regretted selling it.  Liked the tilt tuning on the Coranado but seems like a company to avoid then.

I'd look out for a good second hand Lunt 60mm or 80mm to TBH.
