Hello all,

I'm somewhat new to astronomy, been in and out of it over the past few years, mostly out of it due to serious health issues.

I just bought a new scope, waiting for it to arrive,  it's an Orion StarBlast 6i IntelliScope dobsonian, hope it arrives soon, althoughall we have are cluody skies here for the foreseeable future of course.

I also have an old Tasco 60mm scope that ive been playjng around with, after a few good views of the lunar surface I'm hooked again, lol

Thanks for accepting me to the group, blessings!

Hello and welcome to the site :D  Looks like the 2 week cloud curse when you buy something new strikes again, I wonder if the clouds start when you place the order or when you receive the item? 🤔 😜

It was literally hell obtaining my new telescope, it's a much longer story than i should type here, but the main thing is i finally have it. If only the winter storms would stop now!

Hi there,

Welcome to SGL and congratulations on finally getting your new scope.

My wife and I went to a wedding in Antigonish some years ago and took the opportunity to tour around Nova Scotia.  Very nice part of the world.

Hi Mike, yes, Nova Scotia grows on you, and if your from here, it's in you for your entire life. I spent many years in British Columbia,  the whole time missing home. I have family in Antigonish, it's nice there. Unfortunately,  as is the norm for here, the weather is well, wintery, lol. I'd like to blame it on the telescope purchase, but its just the way it is here. Currently -28C, ice storm and many without power. Good thing my jnteliscope takes batteries.

Blessings and clear skies!20220109_232210.thumb.jpg.c3dc9d87d8892c7b473f7c41bf198488.jpg
