ASIAir Plus not recognising my Nikon D610

Hi All.   

As per the above, I've set up the AA+ and it seems to be finding everything with the exception of the Nikon D610. I'm using the DSLR cable recommended by FLO thats inserted into the AA+ DSLR port then direct to the respective small usb port (the one the remote cable goes into) on the 610.  I've tried all the usual reboots, firmware is up to date, but the 'Camera' part of the setup remains stubbornly blank and will only show the ZWO 120 finder cam in the pull down menu. I've poked around on the interweb and the only info is that the 610 IS suitable for the AA+. There are obscure comments re different cables, and a variation of a different cable fitted to the standard size USB 2.0 port on the 610.  

Anyone been down this road?  Any advice greatfully received.

As far as I'm aware, ASI Air pro/plus only supports ZWO ASI cameras. I do not think you can use any other camera with ASI Air either DSLR or any other dedicated astrophotography camera. 

It's probably the reason why, your ASI wouldn't recognise your DSLR.

DSLRs are the only non-ZWO camera that the ASI Air does support. 

I'd probably start by trying the camera with some similar software on another computer - although the software is different, it'll confirm the camera + cable  + camera settings are correct.
