SGL Imaging challenges 2022

Happy new year!  It is time to open a new board for our 2022 challenges.  The 2021 challenges will stay on this board until the current challenges complete at the end of February and will then be moved to the archived area. 

The aim is to have a range of challenges some of which will be accessible to everyone and some which will be more specialised.   Whilst some may be a test of technical excellence many will give plenty room  for creativity and imagination.   As previously there will be a new challenge every month,  with each challenge normally  running for 3 months, with the exception of special events e.g. eclipses, so, for much of the time, you will have 3 challenges to have a go at!

To enter please submit your entry in the relevant  ‘Astro Challenge’ thread . Please post as much information as possible - when it was taken, how it was captured and processed, etc. The info won't necessarily be used for judging but will help fellow SGLers looking to learn and improve their knowledge and technique.

A team of mods, admin plus occasional guests will judge the entries. Only the first post containing the submitted image will be considered (not the discussions, feedback or number of likes generated in the topic).

The winner of each challenge will receive a coveted SGL challenge mug with  and a virtual medal-of-honour for their SGL signature.

We will also compile and keep a showcase of all the challenges and winners.

This is great to know the challenges will continue, thank you to all involved.

The three month span gives time for the weather to play ball too. I had to give up on the sun one as on month three it moved too far for my recording position to capture and too high and then behind buildings.
