Synscan Not saving configuration

Hi.

I'm attempting to build the telescope that Cuiv The Lazy Geek constructed on his youtube channel. 

I got the Raspberry Pi, bought Stellarmate and as a mount I'm using a Skywatcher Star Discovery goto.

I have Synscan running on a Samsung Galaxy with Android 8.

My problem is  that when I try to apply  the various settings that Cuiv tells me, though Synscan says that they have been applied, when I refresh the app they have not.

What am I doing wrong ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I forgot to mention, the mount has a wifi dongle that I''m connecting to from my hone.
