Asteroid 1 Ceres Opposes Sun 2021 NOV 27

Asteroid 1 Ceres will appear within Taurus in opposition to the Sun on 2021 NOV 27 at magnitude +7.2. It is the largest main belt asteroid, and has also been designated a dwarf planet. Ceres was discovered in 1801, and has a mean diameter of 845 km.

Photos and descriptions of Ceres would be welcome additions to this thread.

Hi Curt, thanks for the reminder about Ceres - very useful to have. This my attempt from last night - an animation covering one hour of movement against the background stars. Not ideally place because of the full moon (which also caused the background brightness change over the sequence) but good enough.
