Efforts from night of 23rd.

First up is a colour effort of full disc with my Sony DSLR and 2X teleconverter on APM 140 - then downsized to 75%.  I mainly did this one for my Sony photo forum where I have been notably absent for some time.   (lunar is taken over my free time).  The converter is very old and introduced a lot of CA which I did my best to remove in post.  Still....  the Sony crew will like it.  hehe

Then, my full disc single panel disc with APM140 at prime with 183MM.  Tracking was quite good this night and I was able to shoot at 16mp with only about 75 pixels clearance for a few minutes.

Next up are my first light efforts with a new barlow.  Its a Seibert Optics 1.5X  "Telecentric".  (similar to a powermate).     Vixen VMC200L + 1.5X Seibert + 610nm + 290MM camera.   A little oversampled....  but I think fine as is.  Posted at full size output.  Each shot the best 200 of 10000 frames.    Processed with wavelets and deconvolution in Astra Image.  C and C appreciated.....  still not feeling confident of my Hi Rez efforts.

And that is it!   Working on last night's data now.  :)

Clear skies

Mosaics are very sharp Mike. looking very tight. Not sure if its the sharpening, the quality of the scope. the seeing. or all 3. But they look a bit tighter than mine. With the refractors. Think i will buy Astra and look at this processing. Starting to become convinced. the deconvolution. might be doing a finer job maybe. The vixen shots also look quite fine.

Thanks Neil!   I still use the tried and true for me on the full disc stuff.    I just like the results better from Astra deconvolution than other things I have tried.   For the close in work, I am still using Astra Image....  but now do a combination of wavelets and light deconvolution...  I hope its working... seems so!  :)

Definately working. I have Astra on here waiting for payment. Might be interesting to run my best so far this year through it. The Orion 245 mosaic see what comes out. Just to jog my  memory can you remember what post on here you did the astra walkthrough. I can go through them, but if you remembered the section. BTW got 32" 4k monitor here now. 8GB of extra HDD space. Handy

You will enjoy the monitor....  but it will mess with your head for a while for sharpening.  lol   No, I don't recall, but I am sure we can figure it out!  My copy iof Astra s old now...  I should check and see if anything new is worth upgrading!

No worries Mike i should have copied it all. But of course i thought if i need it, its there, not really  thinking how many posts we are both making. I will hunt for it. Sure i can find it. If i get any trouble will message but sure i can find it.  Yes at the moment i am using both screens to help adjust.. Colour looks different less blue,

went out last night with the 10. again clouded over. Left it too long. couple of panes through  heavy misty cloud. But not what we want of course
