Cheap little wide field refractor

Recommended Posts

Others will comment I’m sure, I have no experience with the scope but reading this on RVs website implies that it’s good for widefield visual use but would likely show a fair amount of CA, and probably field curvature when imaging.

While the telescope's design features ED glass, it is not in the Apochromatic range of colour correction, but still gives a good account of itself for moderate power observations of the Moon and brighter planets. But for wide field sweeping of the Milky Way and viewing objects like M31, the Bresser Messier AR-102xs/460 is a great choice.

That's a no go then :)

I would say so. You could probably pick up a small used 66 or 70mm apo for similar money which would be more suitable for imaging. I think the Skywatcher 72ED would be much better.
