Hawking: Can you hear me

Watched this last night found it very interesting,

On sky Documentaries, about family, friends and colleagues talk for the first time about Stephen Hawkings life 

worth seeing if you’ve not seen it, I found the latter part of this great mans life very sad

Reviewed in guardian today. Yeh, he was human like the rest of us for sure. 

Parallels to Newton I think? Amazing thinker, still use his laws.. But also believed in alchemy, the occult and Bible code.

We are all flesh blood at the end of the day, with our faults and highlights. He was blessed with an amazing mind, and despite his physical setbacks he was able to push the boundaries of physics and write books that I have been able to read and gain a new perspective from. Despite being a guy that cuts grass for a living and digs the occasional hole.

I am not sure I have heroes anymore. They diminish with time. But he is someone I will always look up to in the future…… despite the Nobel cold shoulder.

I haven't seen that one, but many colleagues and family were interviewed in Errol Morris' 1991 documentary. I have seen it a few times; his mother is just amazing.
