Tribute to the Upcoming Neptune Opposition

In tribute to the Neptune opposition I've posted previous prime focus images of Neptune in magical conjunctions with Venus and Mars. You can see of hints of the gas giant's bluish hue:

 

Neptune is at opposition is on September 14 at approximately 9 UTC!

That is something I have never tried to capture, but I have/did have some conjunction images some time ago.

Thanks, Angie. It's been tricky for me to image Neptune, especially without the aid of bright guide star or planet.

Great selection of photos Reggie  Love the conjunction photos, Neptune has come out so clear against the other planets, and yes you can see the blue hue. Fantastic.

I've only made one attempt at Neptune so far, a combination of it being overshadowed by Jupiter/Saturn and that the summer weather here has been so dreadful.

Here's a couple photos of my first attempt last week using my ASI224MC, in the second photo if I remember right, I used a barlow & overexposed on purpose to pick out Triton. Not the best I know, but it was just a trial.

My Crayford Focuser came through the post yesterday for my 180Pro, so I'm hoping to link that up & get out tonight if the weather holds.

Thanks, Damien. Nice set of photos you have here! Love the blue you were able to capture. Even though Neptune doesn't show much surface detail just seeing it is a joy

Thanks, Pete. Neptune can be really tough to image without a nearby bright object as an anchor. I guess I need a bigger scope, lol!
