Broken a bone (ankle) for the first time in my life at the age of 55 🙂  nothing major, but it looks like the telescopes will be out of use for probably 6 weeks or so.

So it looks like the Binoculars are going to get even more use than usual.

I have also very recently recieved these two books http://planetary-astronomy.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_orlh-vL8gIVSJ7tCh2kEAjREAAYASAAEgKBtvD_BwE

and  http://solar-astronomy-book.com/

Both are superb from what i have seen so far. I have read more of the planetary book so far, loads in there regarding processing.

That is rotten luck Pete !

Hope you are back in action asap.

Off work for a month or so, perfect time for the Gas Giants as well. Might get the C9.25 on the obsy mount, in a couple of weeks. from that position it will be ok for Jupiter if not Saturn. Just need to slide the roof open/close then. What could go wrong 🙂

I like the first book just a word of warning I know you may think why is he telling me this but just in case don't look at the Sun with binoculars have to use appropriate solar film or solar filters.

This warning can never be repeated enough, mentioning Solar astronomy and binculars together should probably always come with a warning. 👍

Wishing you all the best during this set back. I’ve had an injury for a few months that’s forced me to be bino only at the moment, have been enjoying it regardless. A couple of nights ago I happened to pull the blind in the office to see Jupiter perfectly positioned between the trees opposite. Had the 15x70s on the tripod with window open for an enjoyable 15 mins. But last night was much steadier!
