after owning the R200SS ( 8'' F4 ) for about 4,5 months, and after upgrading the focuser and buying an MPCC.

13-02-2009 was the night i could get the setup out, polar alingment was very poor ( 60 secs exposure used ) x 52 so 52minuts on ISO 800

eos 40D unmod-IDAS LPS-losmandy g11-vixen r200ss.

the photoshop was also very poor, no darks/flats/bias were used.

Very nice matural look to that image, I think it's too easy to push it too far to bring out the nebulosity.

Nice sharp image with lovely stars. A trick I tried on my own M45 image was to treat the red and the blue channels in opposite ways. I lifted the low levels in red and lowered the high levels and did the opposite for blue. This helped bring out the brown dust in the lower right of the image. This may have some Ha in it, I'm not sure, so the unmodded camera might not have picked it up.

I guess you are pleased with the telescope!
