Really lovely, with loads of detail. The AVI is clearly better than the GIF

Hi Michael. Yes the downside of Gif compression. Convenient. But not quality. It was the best Gif quality setting too. But clearly all the smoothness is gone compared to the AVI isnt it.

Cheers

That looks fantastic! How many minutes does this rotation capture?

Hi Kon many thanks it runs from 01:54 to 02:23 UT. So 29 minuets of rotation. It moves fast doesnt it.

Indeed! Seeing your 30min rotation animation is pretty cool, considering a ~10hr 'day'. It puts it in perspective on how fast it rotates.

Is that the ASI462 and which telescope did you use please?

There's much to see in your animation, lovely

Hi same chip but QHY version. It is a Orion optics 245mm 1/10th pv F6.3 Primary. Antares 1/30th pv secondary mirror.

Hi @neiil phillips I meant just wait an hour and Jupiter’s appearance changes as new features and moons rotate into view.

I feel there is a joke in there that I am not getting - there normally is when Uranus is mentioned (or the moons of Uranus!). 🤭🤭

No joke Mark. For some reason i thought something was rising a hour after Jupiter. And saw Uranus. I get your point now, and yes never a dull moment on the gas giant.
