Just tracking along the contact line with the ASI290MC mountedt to see if I could capture some lunar topography when some sunspot activity came into view!

Then the clouds did likewise....

Yeah, leaning to giving up (near Notts). The met office app had the skies clearing at 10am, then 11am, then noon and now 1pm.

Not to worry - I'll just have to make sure I make it to the next one!

Same in Derby. Not even a brief glimpse through the clouds.

The peaks and troughs of the Moon’s surface are very clear even at 60-70x - particularly in the area of widest contact

Noticed a few gaps in the clouds, so quickly set up my 72EDF on the Scopetech. Finally managed to catch a sight of the sun during the greatest eclipse (11:01 - 11:20). There were quite a few tiny sun spots near the edge of the Moon.

A few brief glimpses here, but enough for one totally clear observation at about 11.35am. I agree with @Kon, I was surprised by the unevenness of the lunar limb, somehow wasn’t expecting to see that. Rubbish picture through cloud, actually a long exposure because it was so dim. Visually I could see the two ARs and some granulation which was cool. With x1 and x2 camera on then eyephine, handheld at the binoviewer eyepiece.
