Now order a new beam and find out even wood is going to have an estimated time of delivery around 2022ūüôĄ.¬†

This week the first construction projects here in The Netherlands are stalled due to woodshortage.

I reckon there's years worth of use still left in that rot.  I'd try to get rid of the wood though.  It'll probably affect the structural integrity.

I have not been able to find any replacement wooden joists at all so have gone with 3.6M long aluminium decking joists instead - they are actually cheaper than the wooden joists that are not available.  I am replacing the OSB wooden board on the roof with lightweight metal sheets in order to make the roof lighter and easier to handle.

Have started to install the aluminium joists, together with the new wheels, track and roof.  The aluminium joists required stiffening so, in addition to the new track I have bolted some steel framing to them.D74C34B9-FFB7-4891-B27D-E283F67F5A6F.thumb.jpeg.c9a18ad305551c6eea0ba40b0d75fee9.jpeg

Hi, I replaced wooden boarding last year with lightweight metal sheets the same as you ,but ran into condensation problems which were sorted eventually. Hope you don't get the same problems

I hope so too! ¬†We are expecting storms tonight for the first time I finished roof so the first test will be whether it is watertight ūüôĄ. Have at least finished bolting the restored frame together in case it gets a bit breezy...
