EQ3 or SupaTrak for Skymax 127?

Recommended Posts

I posted this originally in the Equipment help forum butI thougt it might do better here:

I've been looking around at scopes and am narrowing in on the Skymax 127 for my first scope but am unsure about which mount to go for: EQ3 or SupaTrak.

I'm looking for a fairly portable scope (my communal garden is very light polluted) to view planets, double stars, clusters etc.

Any recommendations as to the merits of either would be appreciated.

i have the mak 127 with an alt az mount, its not very solid but it is portable and packs away to a compact size ,the reason i plumbed for it

the whole scope and mount can be easily moved and adjusted in moments ,

having had it almost a year now the mount is showing signs of deteriation though and only the other day i was thinking i wish this was a little more sturdy in the quality of its build( i cannot fault the mak however)
