I have just watched Al Nagler of Televue talking about how night vision monoculars turn an 85mm refractor into a 10-14 inch scope. And suddenly up pops a couple of images I recognise 😀

I'm surprised that Takahashi have not entered this area as the FSQ range given its speed is well suited for NV and Mewlons as well where a long focal length is required.

Low tube availability, export issues and a small market. You can use most reasonably fast scopes effectively, there really isn’t a standout type that beats others. I’d certainly welcome more suppliers who know what they’re dealing with and how best to provide a simple to use “kit”.

Other than the OVNIs, is there an alternative to NV monoculars? I'm interested in giving EEVA a shot (strictly for visual, not astrophotography) - but certainly not at these list prices...
