Struggling with the seeing today especially focus. Some nice sunspots though. Can't see any proms.

Here seeing was not terrific either, but still managed a few nice shots (more to come).

Cornwall UK. I swapped the ed80 out for the Ed120 and its fine, nice proms etc but with the 80 it's very mushy. Thinking it might be a collimation problem, that said it focuses fine on distant trees. I'm confused. Com

Hi Steve,

Here is the lower prominence using the same Lunt, but now in combination with a TeleVue 4x PowerMate:

 

Sadly enough I had the framing wrong by which the prominence was not fully captured at the lower left.

Both images were taken with a ZWO ASI174MM and FireCapture. Processing done in AutoStakkert3!, IMPPG and PSP.

I’ve had days like this - when you begin to question your equipment, or when one scope performs better than another for no apparent reason. It seems that short term seeing differences are almost always the culprit, as next time out I get different results.

Seeing bad here yesterday. Much better today 👍

I was observing the sun yesterday and it was very wobbly. It's not much better where I am today.
