Imaged from Spain, The Lion Nebula taken with the William Optics FLT132 at f5.6 and the QSI-660WSG Done in the usual Hubble palette. 2.8hrs in Ha and OIII, 3.5hrs in SII, just over 9hrs total. Process

Just stunning! 👏👏

I find it absolutely amazing what some of y’all are doing. Some of the targets are objects I’ve never seen, or even knew about. Some of these images would have made astronomers from 50 years ago gasp.

Nice to see this & loving those colours Peter. You always do get good stars!

I've got this down as SH2-132, managed just over 3 "desperate" hours on it in the last month.. think I might quietly put it to one side after seeing this.. 🤣

Yes you are right, LBN471 is part of the bigger SH2-132, with this scopes narrow FOV it would have plate solved and framed it differently.

The indicial process showed washed out stars so I did do some work on the stars on a separate layer.

it actually colour corrects as good as the FSQ

Hmmm.....Dangerous talk.

But an absolutely stunning image in all respects.  This has got to be as good as it gets.

I assumed this was a different lion nebula but it is actually the one I was thinking of. The orientation and fov and sheer quality made it unrecognisable.

Scouts honour Chris... and I know it's real fighting talk but this 132 is pin sharp and It's colour correction is just amazing... easily comparable to the FSQ's.... don't know if this one is just a one off???

I just love the FOV of this scope and camera combination.
